May 23 - Amer. Leg. 308 Spaghetti Dinner - 5 - 7 p.m. - Located at 217 Mitchell Street - off Hwy 903, North of Littleton.  Adults $6, children under 6 free eat in or take out.  Baked goods by Amer. Leg. Auxiliary for sale. 

NEW - May 24 - Pancake Breakfast - 7:30 a.m. - 10 a.m. at the Longbridge VFD in Littleton

NEW - May 24 - Pet Adoption Day & Fundraiser - 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  - Held at Becker Village Mall.  For more information call 252-537-9040 or contact Donna May with the Down East Animal Refuge. 

NEW - May 24 - Cruize In for classic and vintage car lovers - from 11 a.m. until.  at the corner of Weavers Chapel Road and Oak Grove Road.  Food vendor with those great funnel cakes on site. 

NEW - May 24 - Cindi Ruth Circle holds old fashion southern cooking bake sale, etc.   - 7 a.m. - 12 p.m. - at the intersection of 903 and Enterprise Road in Littleton where Michael’s Beauty Salon is now and where the Lake Gaston Gazette Office use to be.  Cakes, pies, breads, jams, jellies, pickles, cookies, brownies, bars, and miscellaneous goodies.  

May 24 - Lake Gaston Lions Fish Fry - 4-6:30 p.m. - Dinners are $6.  Drive thru available.  Tickets available at various business establishments around the lake and at the site the day of the dinner.  To be held at the Lions site on Stanley Road across from the Wildwood Nursery and Garden Center in Henrico. 

NEW - May 24 - Gospel Mini Golf Every Saturday - 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Gaston Baptist Church across from the Food Lion.  It is open to the public and it is free.  For more information or directions call 252-586-3829. 

May 24 - Annual Battle of BBQ - Lake Gaston Chamber - Cookers set up Friday afternoon and wait for the pigs arrive to begin cooking.  Saturday morning the cookers prepare their areas and their pigs for the judges. 

May 24 - May Gala - 7-8 pm (social hour), 8-9 p.m. (dinner), 9 - 10 p.m. (Legends Show) - 10-12 p.m. (dancing). - Sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary Post 425.  Advance donation $15 single, $25 couple, at the door $17 per person.  Call 252-586-6789 or (252) 532-6681.

NEW - May 25 - Memorial Day Service - 2 p.m. - Downtown Littleton at the Memorial site by the flashing light.  Sponsored by American Legion Horace Palmer Jr. Legion Post 308.

NEW- May 26 - Memorial Day Ceremony - 11 a.m. at the Veteran Memorial Park.  Held by American Legion Post 79 and VFW Post 7166. 

May 26 - Light a Candle for the Military - dusk until 8:30 p.m. - Candles may be purchased in  honor of or in memory of a military person or veteran.  Contact any Pilot Club member or mail $5 per candle to: Pilot Club of Roanoke Valley, Attn: Candle, PO Box 971, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870  Please put your name, the person who are honoring and branch of service.  For more information call 537-2822.

NEW- May 30, June 1, 6,7, 14 & 15 - South Pacific - 8 p.m. (evening shows) 2:30 (Sunday matinees) - Lakeland Theatre Company located on Mosby Avenue in Littleton.  Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for students Discounts for groups of 15 or more. 

May 31 - 1st Annual Littleton Home Garden and Church Tour - Tour from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Folks can visit the homes, gardens and churches in whatever order they wish.  Lunch will be on the grounds of Historic Panacea Springs (11:30 a.m. - to 1:30 p.m.).  Advance tickets for the tour are $15 and $5 for lunch can be purchased at Littleton Pharmacy, Warrenton Hardware Cafe, or from any LWC member.  Tickets on day of event are $25 and $6.  Person’s Ordinary - For more information contact Judith Forrest at  252-586-2182. 

May 31 - Valley Fest 2008 - Coming Soon - Roanoke Avenue between 10th and 11th streets.  Presented by the RV Chamber of Commerce.  Call the Chamber to reserve your space!! 252-537-3513.

NEW - June 1 - The Ambassadors  - A Gospel Quartet - 7 p.m. at the Lake Gaston Baptist Church in Littleton, NC.  For more information call 252.586.3829. 

NEW - June 1 - Macon Baptist Homecoming - 11 a.m. - at 159 Church Street, Macon.  The former pastor, Rev. Larry Hornbuckle will be leading the Homecoming Service. 

June 4 - Lake Gaston VFD Golf Tournament - 8 a.m. (continental breakfast) 9 a.m. sharp (Tee time) - To be held at Tanglewood Shores and River Ridge Golf Club - Captain’s Choice - 9 holes each course $45 entry fee - Sign up sheets at Tanglewood Shores 636-2254 and River Ridge Ridge 636-3351.  All proceeds go to the Lake Gaston VFD.

NEW - June 14 - Lake Gaston Association (LGA) Annual Meeting - At the Lake Gaston Baptist Church.  Susan Williams, who is knowledgeable about Virginia incorporation perspectives, will be a speaker at the June meeting.  Then we will review the information from the North Carolina side and put all the information together.

Emotions Anonymous (EA) - Thursday – Emotions Anonymous (EA) will meet on Thursday . Meetings are held at 10 AM each Tuesday at Lakeside Lutheran Church 57 River Road Littleton, NC. Lake Gaston Association - 1st Wednesday - The meeting takes place at 9:30 a.m. at the Lake Gaston Baptist Church.

Lake Gaston Computer Club - 2nd Tuesday - The meeting will be at 1:00 p.m.

Lake Gaston Garden Club - 1st Tuesday -The meeting takes place at the RWVFD.

Lake Gaston Kiwanis Club - 1st Tuesday and 3rd Wednesday - The meeting takes place at 6:00 p.m. at Mordecai’s.

Lake Gaston Ladies Club - 3rd Tuesday – (off for summer / will start again in September) - This takes place at various locations.

Lake Gaston Lions Club - 2nd & 4th Monday’s - The meeting takes place at RWVFD at 7:00 p.m.

Lake Gaston Water Safety Council - Last Wednesday of Month - This takes place at 6:00 p.m. at the Kennon House Restaurant in Gasburg, VA from January through October.

Littleton Lions Club - 1st & 3rd Thursday’s - The meeting takes place at 7:00 p.m. at the Lions Den in Littleton.

Littleton Town Meeting - 1st Monday - The town meeting is at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall.

Littleton Women’s Club - 1st Tuesday (most of the time) - The meeting takes place at Person’s Ordinary.

Norlina Community Development Association - 2nd Thursday - Meets at the Norlina Town Hall at 7:30 p.m.

Plummer Hook & Ladder Historical Society 1st Wednesday - Meets at the Warrenton Town Hall at 7:00 p.m.

USCG Aux. Flotilla 93 - 1st Tuesday - The meeting takes place at 7:00 p.m. in Henrico, NC.

Warren County Memorial Library Computer Lab - Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday – WARRENTON, NC – Patrons must present valid library card to use the center. Library cards can be issued at the main library only.
