After a foot chase and search of the area, Littleton police recently apprehended a man wanted on a fugitive charge from Northern Virginia.

Littleton Sgt. Shane Jenkins arrested Edward Kinta Settles, of 1019 Bacon Road, Littleton, recently after Settles name came up as being wanted in Fairfax County, Va.

There he has been charged with armed robbery, malicious wounding, and abduction, all felonies.

Jenkins said Halifax County Sheriff Department deputies served Settles with papers related to a domestic violence case on Feb. 15, then when they entered his name into their database it came up as wanted in Virginia. The sheriff’s office then notified Littleton Police.

“I was on patrol,” Jenkins said. “I saw him, called for back-up, then went on a foot chase after him.”

It was dark – the foot chase took place around 9 p.m. that day, and the man eluded Jenkins. But, the sergeant said the police department began searching for him and found him on Ferguson Street.

Jenkins arrested Settles, who he said waived extradition, meaning he would not fight his transport to Virginia to face charges there.

In other police reports:

• Roy Lee Dunston, 47, or 2590 Highway 4, Littleton, was arrested and charged with driving on a revoked driver’s license, with having fictitious tags on his car, and with driving without auto insurance, according to a Littleton Town police report.

Jenkins said he made the arrest after noticing a Ford Taurus being driven in a suspicious nature, coming through town a couple of time.

“I ran his tags, they came back to another vehicle,” he said, so the sergeant pulled over the driver and ended up charged Dunston with three offense.

He was released on a $200 bond.

o Wayne Wendell Braxton, of 127 Little Drive, Littleton, was arrested and charged with a probation violation, according to a Littleton Town Police report.

Jenkins was also the arresting officer on this case. He said he was called to a domestic dispute, and in running Braxton’s name through a police check found he was wanted on an alleged probation violation in Hertford County.

He was arrested and a $1,000 cash bond was set.

o The ABC store at 211 Main Street in Littleton reported a black male stole a pint of Smirnoff Vodka on Feb. 9.
