Littleton B & E Suspect arrested

What many thought was a re-run of an incident that occurred in Littleton on March 28, after it was reported on local news media outlet, was just the end of that story.   On May 7 Lt. Bobby Martin from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office arrested Timothy Daniel Harris a 20-year-old male from the Roanoke Rapids area.

Harris was charged in connection with a breaking and entering and attempted larceny that occurred in the Littleton area. On March 28 the owners of the property being broken into awoke and heard someone outside their home. When the homeowners came out they saw an individual running away from their property and into the woods near them. A shed had been broken into and a four wheeler removed and pushed across the street. The victims called 911 and Littleton Police Chief Mike Suggs responded to the scene. On the way he noticed a vehicle parked beside the road with a trailer attached to it. Chief Suggs recorded the tag number and proceeded on the call.

Once he arrived on the scene and was advised that the subject had run away, he canvassed the area, but found no one. While patrolling the area Chief Suggs saw the vehicle for which he had previously recorded the tag. He proceeded to activate his blue lights and sirens and gave chase. The vehicle fled and took Chief Suggs on a car chase into Halifax County. The two passengers were able to jump and run from the vehicle. The Roanoke Rapids Police Department K-9 Group was called out, but no suspect could be located at that time.

It was later learned through investigation that Harris was allegedly one of the passengers in that vehicle, and was alleged to be involved in the breaking and entering and attempted larceny. Harris was arrested and charged with breaking and entering, and attempted larceny. He has been placed in the Halifax County Jail under $2,000 bond and has a June 4 court date. The investigation continues and more arrests could be pending.
