Commissioners may finalize WFR on Monday

The completion of the Window Fashion Resources (WFR) project is moving closing to being complete.  According to Halifax County Manager Tony Brown the Halifax County Board of Commissioner will deal with, he hopes will be the final agreement, in closed session on Monday.

The building passed inspection in the first week of March to allow the county to issue a conditional use permit in the first.  The permit has to be issued this way because the alarm and sprinkler systems could not be tested until phone lines are installed.

According to Brown the final points will be part of meeting the requirements of the Golden Leaf Foundation who provided a grant of $375,000 for the building renovation

Littleton Mayor Mason Hawfield had hoped the building could be transferred to WFR a couple of weeks ago.  If the board approves everything on Monday they can set a date for the formal ceremony of turning the building over to the new owners Lucynda and Don Yauger.  Reportedly the Yauger’s are anxious to take ownership of the building and start setting up for production.

If the Yauger’s are able to meet their original time frame it should take about 180 days from turning the building over to being ready to start production.
